Managing heads of 72 companies in Region 7 underwent an 8-hr environmental seminar highlighting the five (5) environmental laws under the mandate of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). These laws include PD 1586 (EIS Law), RA 8749 (Clean air Act), RA 9275 (Clean Water Act), RA 6969 (Chemical Substances and Hazardous and Nuclear Wastes Act, and RA 9003 (Ecological Solid Waste Management Act). Managing heads of companies, establishments, institutions and even LGUs are required by DENR to undergo this environmental seminar in line with the accreditation of their Pollution Control Officer (PCO).
The seminar aims to help managing heads be familiar with the requirements of the laws so they can ensure compliance.
A total of 82 participants attended the seminar which was held last march 11, 2016 at Golden Prince Hotel located at Archbishop Reyes Ave., Lahug, Cebu City.
